Ecstatic Dance: A Journey Through Movement and History
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form, expressive dance practice that invites participants to connect deeply with their bodies, emotions, and the rhythm of music. Rooted in ancient traditions, it traces back to indigenous and spiritual rituals, where dance was a sacred act of celebration, healing, and connection to the divine. From the shamanic dances of Africa to the trance movements in Sufi practices, ecstatic dance has always been a universal language of freedom and self-expression. Today, it continues to honor its rich history by creating safe, non-judgmental spaces for individuals to explore movement, release energy, and experience profound joy and transformation

The flow of the event
We will begin by coming together in a circle to connect with each other and sink into the space
*Ceremonial Cacao will be served to tune in into our hearts and our intentions
The Ecstatic Dance journey begins! We will dance barefoot, without mobile phones and without talking to each other so we can just tune into our bodies.
As we land slowly, Justyna will guide us into a serene sound bath, weaving the gentle tones of singing bowls and the deep, resonant vibrations of the gong. These healing sounds will help us integrate the energy of the dance, bringing us into a state of deep relaxation and harmony. Allow the waves of sound to wash over you, grounding you in the present moment and nurturing a sense of peace within
We will then come together in a closing circle, offering space for sharing our experiences, reflections, and gratitude. This is a moment to connect deeply with the group, honor our journey, and carry the energy of the evening into our lives with open hearts 
* Ceremonial Cacao is used in ecstatic dance as a sacred plant medicine to open the heart, enhance connection, and deepen the experience of movement. Rich in theobromine, tryptophan (a precursor to serotonin) and other natural compounds, it promotes a gentle, uplifting energy, fostering clarity and emotional release. With its roots in ancient Mayan and Aztec traditions, cacao has long been celebrated as a tool for spiritual connection and transformation. In ecstatic dance, it acts as a bridge, helping participants enter a state of flow and presence, amplifying the joy and freedom of expression through dance.

Meet your hosts
Justyna
Justyna on a daily basis helps people to release tension in their bodies by sharing touch as a Lomi Lomi Nui massage practitioner 
. She also regularly co-creates group sound healing sessions, where she combines the power of sound, breath and movement providing a safe space for participants to relax, look deeper within and connect with themselves.
On her journey, next to the healing power of touch and sound 
, she also discovered the power of intuitive dance – a beautiful tool for self exploration. 
During the event she will hold the space during the cacao ceremony and share some techniques to tune into the space and body before the dance. At the end of the event she will create a safe space for landing by facilitating the sound bath. 
Sundaze
Sundaze is the musical identity of Sorin. He began his journey as a DJ in 2016, exploring the world of Drum ‘n Bass and later expanding into Minimal House & Techno. From the very beginning, he sought to deliver an organic experience through sound, crafting stories with rises and falls in a crescendo, harmonized with the environment and season he found himself in—converting life into music. 
Hailing from Romania 
, Sundaze draws inspiration from his cultural roots, as well as diverse influences from around the globe. His DJ sets incorporate elements from the Orient, Africa, the Balkans, South America, dub music, downtempo, afro house, trance and drum & bass, to name just a few. 
The concept of Ecstatic Dance came to him as an ‘upgrade’ full of synchronicities, offering a space to unleash his imagination and create boundless musical selections. These selections are designed to help participants slow down their inner rhythm and listen to the voice within. Through this journey, his music provides a space for releasing tensions accumulated in the rush of everyday life, gently guiding people back home—to the here and now.
